Dude. Seriously! This was a Blaug draft that was supposed to turn into a couple of real Blaug Entries, but now it's this:
The following list succinctly takes you on a furious Tauz-nado of information, that starts near the end of May and finishes up in early June...
Retreat is barreling down on us.
Got the call for the Ultimate (Frisbee) draft
Mark got rid of his cats. The night he took them away, I accidentally made him really upset about it and I would like to give a shout-out to Noah and Gracie out of respect for him and them.
Stoner's Anniversary Project seems doomed...
We had a huge party for a few reasons at Mom and Dad's house:
Mark kicked Grad School's ass
Jeff and Terry came home for a bit because...
it was Jeff's birthday
Terry was leaving for an internship in Africa to study native drumming & dances
Scott and Jen got engaged.
Lost's season Finale was amazing.
Tony the Temporary Roommate totally happened.
Here comes Wizard World Philly, BITCH!!
=====
Wow. So I apparently wrote that on May 29th. I hate the fact that I can't keep up with life and The Blaug at the same time...
Here's my new list:
Wizard World Philly was different from last year, but it still kicked ass. Peter David is really cool, and now I have 3 books signed by the man himself!
Venture Bros. Season 3 is great, but not as hilarious as the last two seasons. But I stress...still great.
I joined the Venture Bros. T-Shirt Club...
Ultimate sucks this year cuz I'm not getting the disc AT ALL.
Melfa's wedding was nice. The reception, however... was the shit. It was awesome to see everyone, especially Gretchen L.
Worked on the Slideshow and the following sketch non-stop in the week and a half leading up to Retreat 2008.
I went on my 15th consecutive Retreat. I have officially been going on Retreat for more than half of my life. It was great, as usual, and I got something very different out of it this year than I ever have in the past, which is what I've come to expect from Retreats.
Stoner and Neil came down to work on a DVD for Stoner's 50th Wedding Anniversary, which was the weekend after Retreat. We lost a lot of sleep, but the whole Stoner Family was really happy with the end product. I even got a really nice, hand-written thank you note from Mr. Stoner today.
Terry returned home from Africa, safe, healthy, toned, and malaria-free. And she bought drums. And we had an all-Tauzin Drum Circle at Mark and Laura's. It was friggin' awesome.
We also celebrated July 4th at Mark and Laura's with the whole Spink/Tauzin Clan. We even swam and grilled in the rain.
I helped Loban load all his stuff into a U-Haul truck and sent him off to live in his own house and start/continue his "new life" with his kickass fiancee, Angela. It's been a couple of weeks now, and I miss having him around to chat with and/or "force me" to watch a UFC DVD.
Before he moved out I took it upon myself to take advantage of his big-ass TV one last time. I stayed up until 7:30am to beat Sub-Space Emissary (the storyline part of Super Smash Bros. Brawl). This means that both of the games I've beaten on my Wii have been:
Mario-based.
Beaten during an unnecessarily-long and sleepless playing session.
Played entirely upon the biggest TV I've ever had in my house.
I currently don't have cable TV, so I'm reading the hell out of comic books and trades (I finished up all of the Y: The Last Man trades), I'm starting to play No More Heroes, and I'm watching the SHIT outta some Weeds, Season 3, thanks to Molyneaux.
Speaking of my ever-present polysyllabic chum, he and I found a townhouse to rent beginning in August. His lady actually found it for us (thank you!). We had to go through a rigorous personal interview with our new landlords (the nice, grandparently couple who own the place). After a solid thirty minutes of grilling he and I on our financial and personal situations, we were given the go-ahead to sign a lease. The place is really nice and we're pretty excited to nerd the it up a bit.
So now you're up to date, so quitcher bitchin.
